The previous posting DID NOT WORK, so don't bother clicking on the link. Sorry, not so good at this stuff yet. But this did work, so enjoy a minute of Lily's first smiles caught on camera. They are still few and far between but we see them when we look into her eyes and make funny noises. She is really growing up! Next week she has her 2 month old check up and we'll keep you posted on her vital statistics!

What has Luke been up to?

Since Lily has been the focus of all the attention lately I thought I'd show you what Luke the dog has been up to. He has been relaxing, taking it all in, and ocassionally sniffing out the situation. He actually licked the top of Lily's head the other day!

Grandma's Visit

We have been enjoying ourselves the last 10 days with Grandma Denise here for a visit. She came from New York to spend time getting to know Lily and to help Mommy and Daddy keep their sanity! We had a great visit, doing everything from walking around the neighborhood with Luke and Lily to going on a picnic...Shawn and I even got to go on a date by ourselves for a couple of hours while Grandma fed and played with Lily. They both had a wonderful time, and so did we out to dinner alone! We all saw Lily become more playful and alert while Grandma was visiting. Grandma Denise even gave Lily her first tub bath with Mom, slippery and sliding around, it was fun!
It was sad to see her go this morning, as we all had a wonderful time, and Lily got to spend quality time with her Grandma. From taking care of us, to doing laundry, to cooking dinner, to changing diapers, Grandmas are the best! We can't thank her enough for all the help she has been.
We look forward to more family time as Lily grows and changes, we are sad that we are so far away from Grandmas and Grandpas and Uncles and Cousins.

Lily had her first playdate today...She and Colin had a blast!

This past weekend we had visitors from afar, Uncle Dick and Aunt Usun came from Boston and Leslie from Denver! Although Lily slept most of the day away, Uncle Dick was especially lucky to hold baby Lily. The second picture is just a precious, almost upset, face that Lily makes when I make her pose for pictures. I wanted everyone to see the pretty dress and Mary Jane socks that Uncle Eric gave her

5 Weeks Old

So Lily has been busy growing and by now I am sure you can see how much more alert she looks in her pictures. I thought I would be more efficient at posting pictures so here are some from the last 2 weeks. Lily has been getting outside for her Vitamin D more often and enjoys it very much. We went to a party for Labor Day and I love the "Dad's with kids" photo here. Of course the conversation revolved around sports but look how great they look with their babes! A couple of days later we thought we'd try baby wearing since Lily has reached the 8 pound mark and is safer fitting in the sling/baby carrier. The sling was a disaster, she was so uncomfortable and cried those throaty cries that quiver her whole face and body before letting out a blood curdling scream...maybe another time. So then we tried the Bjorn baby carrier. "Who turned out the lights?" Lily says. She is obviously a little small and without much head control facing outward is not a option yet. She didn't hate it though, but I was sure I was suffocating her! We went out to get the mail together, and that was enough for one day!
